The Ambassadors Program
The KJF AMBASSADORS PROGRAM aims to identify and empower local leaders who actively drive environmental action and inspire their communities. These ambassadors will represent the Kilian Jornet Foundation worldwide, amplifying local impact through authentic stories, projects, and outdoor culture.
The program prioritizes individuals who:
- Create tangible environmental impact at a local level.
- Act as trusted references in their communities.
- Represent values aligned with KJF: respect for nature, responsibility, resilience, simplicity, and authenticity.
Selection Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate proven involvement in environmental or sustainability initiatives.
Evaluation indicators:
- Active participation in environmental projects (minimum 2 years).
- Clear local impact (e.g., conservation, biodiversity, climate action, education, circular economy, community projects).
- Evidence of outcomes (projects launched, communities engaged, measurable results).
Candidates should be recognized as credible voices within their local communities. Is this person a reference in their territory?
Evaluation indicators:
- Leadership role in environmental, outdoor, or community initiatives.
- Ability to mobilize people or inspire action.
- Collaboration with local organizations, schools, NGOs, or communities.
Candidates must embody the ethos of KJF.
Evaluation indicators:
- Connection with nature and outdoor activities.
- Ethical behavior and transparent communication.
- Coherence between lifestyle, values, and actions.
To ensure global relevance and inclusivity, selection should reflect diversity.
Targets:
- 10 ambassadors.
- 5 countries.
- Gender balance.
- Diversity of backgrounds, disciplines, and territories (urban/rural)
- Mix of profiles (activists, educators, scientists, athletes, community leaders, creatives).
Ambassadors should be able to share stories that inspire without losing authenticity. Quality of narrative > quantity of followers.
Evaluation indicators:
- Ability to communicate clearly and responsibly.
- Presence, or absence, on social media, but meaningful relevance within its community as a trusted reference.
- Willingness to share processes, challenges, and learnings.
Candidates must commit to active participation.
Expected commitment:
- Minimum 1-year engagement.
- Participation in KJF initiatives.
- Contribution to at least one environmental action or project per year.
- Responsible use of NNormal equipment and AMBASSADOR PROGRAM – KJF & NNormal branding.
Selection Process
- Applications via online form.
- Self-nominations and third-party nominations allowed.
- Required materials:
- Personal story and motivation.
- Description of environmental actions/projects.
- Evidence of impact (photos, links, references).
- Vision as a KJF AMBASSADOR PROGRAM ambassador.
- Assessment by a KJF + NNormal committee
- Interviews with shortlisted candidates.
- 10 ambassadors selected.
- Public announcement.
